"PALINOPSIA" WILL BE AVAILABLE SOON! CHECK BACK TOMORROW!
Palinopsia • “A visual symptom characterized by the persistence or recurrence of a visual image after the object has been removed, essentially causing ‘trailing’ or lingering afterimages.
Palinopsia is a short film that explores this concept in a less medical, more metaphorical way. At the top of the film, we see Nicole, sitting on the couch, surrounded by beers. Her best friend and roommate, Zoe, walks into the apartment. Tensions are high. Dialogue lets the audience know that the two had an argument two weeks prior that led Zoe to leave. Nicole decides to break the tension by playing the popular get-to-know-you card game, We’re Not Really Strangers.
Questions lead to increased tensions, and eventually, we are slammed with the realization that Zoe is not actually in the apartment.
Nicole is still grieving the loss Zoe, who took her own life 2 weeks prior.
